Frequently Asked Questions

I do not look like the women in your portfolio. Is a shoot for me?
Yes! The women you see on my website are a mix of models and real clients. My photo shoots are for every woman, every shape, size and age. Let me show you how incredible you can look on camera.

Do you shoot in the studio or on location?

I usually shoot from my intimate Manchester studio which has a variety of sets so that we can create something bespoke just for you. I am happy to shoot on location too if you have a specific idea in mind. Also happy to travel as long as my travel costs are covered.

How do I find you?

Belle Privé is located in Hope Mill, a beautiful Grade II listed old Cotton Mill. It is one of the most important centres for the arts in Manchester, complete with it’s own theatre. Hope Mill is situated in Ancoats, voted one of the coolest neighbourhood in the entire world! It is just a 15 minute walk from Manchester city centre and is well served by public transport. You can find travel directions and a map here.

Who will be present during the photo shoot?
I am a female photographer, and my stylist is also a woman. During the actual photoshoot, there is only you and I in the studio. All retouching is done by me, so no one else will see your images. Your proofing gallery is password protected too.

I do not know how to pose. Will you help with that?
I will guide you every step of the way, so don’t worry about “modelling.” Whilst the thought of it to some seems daunting, let me reassure you that it will be one of the most empowering and liberating experiences of your life. I have a wealth of experience in posing different body shapes so I promise to make you look your best.

Will my photos be on your website?
I do not share any client images without your express permission. I understand some women have careers or community commitments that keep them from being able to share images. I respect your privacy and will only share images if you wish.

Do you retouch the images?
Yes, retouching is included- skin smoothing, cellulite removal, blemishes etc. Extensive retouching such as large tattoo removal etc is an additional charge because of how much time it takes. If you have a specific retouching question, just ask and I will be happy to answer.

Do you offer different packages?

Yes, depending on how many images you would like. You can find my pricing information here.

How long does the session take?
The session takes about three to four hours depending on your package. I only take one client per day so we don't have to worry if we go over.

Which days do you shoot?

I shoot midweek days at 10am. Other times can be arranged by appointment. There is a £50 supplement for Saturday bookings.

Is the makeover included?
All of my packages include a professional hair and make-up artist (except the Influencer package). My professional make up artist will talk to you about any allergies you have and what sort of look you would like to achieve. Hair and Make up can take up to an hour and a half, depending on your look. Sit back with a drink, have a chat and be pampered!

Do you provide lingerie for the shoot?
I ask clients to bring their own outfits but I can help advise on what might work best for the look you would like. You should bring more outfits than we will need so that we have options during the shoot.

How do I see my images?

After the photoshoot (usually within 48 hours) I will send through a proofing gallery of all your best images for you to select from. I will then edit your favourites to my usual high standards and they will be sent over via digital transfer. You will receive your final images usually within a week or two from selection. I keep all images and so in the future, if you ever want to purchase more images from the shoot, this is always possible (many women do!)

If I need to reschedule my booking, is my deposit transferable?

Yes, as long as you let me know at least 48 hours before the booking that you need to reschedule. You can reschedule once, as long as enough notice is given. If you need to reschedule a second time, your deposit will be forfeited. If you cancel on the day, the deposit is not transferable.

What payment types do you accept and do you require a deposit?

A deposit of £100 is due to hold your booking- this can be paid by bank transfer or paypal. The balance is due one month before the shoot day either by bank transfer, paypal or cash. (We do not accept credit cards at this time). You can pay off your balance in instalments as long as it is paid off by the day of your photoshoot.

How far in advance should I book?

As early as possible! Weekend dates are very busy- we book up 12 months in advance. Midweek availability is usually better- do get in touch with your dates and we can check the studio diary.

Do you sell gift vouchers?

Yes we do- for any denomination and they make great gifts! You can find more information here.

Do you ever do special offers?

Yes, from time to time! Sign up to the newsletter for exclusive discount.

Can I upgrade my package once I have booked?

Of course- you are free to upgrade at any time and many clients do, especially once they have seen the images!

How do I book a shoot?

You can contact us here and we would be delighted to arrange a photoshoot for you.

Do you ever do collaborative (TFP) shoots?

Occasionally! If I have a new set to test or if I am casting for a particular model style for the events I run, I will usually post a casting call in my instagram stories. I sometimes use Purpleport too for very specific looks.
