A Year in Review 2024
A busy year full of beautiful clients, fabulous models, awards, sold out events & speaking engagements...
I am always honoured to receive recognition for my work and it has been an incredible year for awards, having received 35 national awards in total including my first Golds with The Guild of Photographers. The highlight of my year was most definitely being named Top 3 International Portrait Photographer with the Guild of Photographers!
I am also very honoured to be a Finalist again in the The Guild of Photographers Image of the Year competition in the Classical Portraiture genre. From over 12,000 images entered throughout the year, the Judges have selected only 10 images as finalists in each genre. 5 of them are mine!!
The results will be announced at the Awards Evening next February....

One of my career goals had been to speak at The Photography Show and in March, I got to speak on the Shoot to Inspire stage with an audience of about 200… nerve wracking, exciting, adrenaline filled but… I thoroughly enjoyed it! I spoke on the topic I am most passionate about - Photographing Women!
It has been a long time coming but I finally launched my Art of Boudoir workshops. 3 sold out workshops in London and Manchester with more planned for 2025. Do take a look if you are interested in adding boudoir to your portfolio.
I continue to offer private 1-2-1's in the studio or virtually if you are based further afield. It has been great to provide training to so many photographers in US this year!
I was also delighted to be asked to be an ambassador for Sim Imaging who already provide all my products. I'll be running two more workshops at Sim in 2025 - The Art of Boudoir and Advanced Art of Boudoir in June 2025.
Events and training for Photography Session Days continue to be busy. ... 25 sold out events this year in some fabulous locations such as a 1920s theatre, a Spitfire Hanger, a Tudor Mansion, an Old Church, a Castle, a Vintage Railway amongst others. We were honoured to be asked to present lighting demos at The Photography Show for Pixapro and to run a very successful portfolio pod at Click Live. It has been a very successful year and we are eternally grateful for our incredibly supportive photographers!
I was delighted to go on the road with The Society of Photographers as a speaker for all 9 of their roadshows across the UK. I love sharing my passion for portrait photography with such enthusiastic audiences!
On the speaking front, I now offer a choice of 7 webinars ranging from general portraiture to Boudoir to Hollywood lighting. Creating content for Youtube with Photography Session Days has been a great way to engage with followers around the world. If you are a keen photographer, do subscribe for sneak peeks behind the scenes on our events and lighting, posing and editing tips and tricks!
I launched my new website - EmmaFinch.com - which collates all 3 businesses and is more education based. It is much easier to now give just one website rather than mention 3 when I am teaching or giving talks. There is also a section on Discounts for Photographers!
On a personal note, life continues to be 100mph. Juggling 2 teenagers, a dog and 3 businesses keeps me on my toes! I have travelled - Venice for Carnevale, New Orleans, Memphis, Nashville, Miami & New York.
2025 looks set to be a great year. I was very honoured to have been asked to speak again at both the Societies Convention in London in January and at The Photography Show in London in March for Pixapro.
I will leave you with some of my most popular images of the year...
