Manchester: Stay, Eat,Visit

With so many of my clients travelling to shoot with me, I am constantly asked for hotel and restaurant recommendations. Why not make a night of it? A previous industrial city which thrived on the cotton industry (Belle Privé Studio is based at a Grade II listed former Cotton Mill) Manchester is now a world player in terms of restaurants, shopping and nightlife. A thriving cosmopolitan city which really has it all*, from some of the UK's finest art galleries and museums to historic buildings, great shopping, nightlife and of course football.

*Apologies for the weather!

Here are my top picks if you are planning a night or two in the city.

Hotels

  • The closest hotel to the studio is the Ibis Pollard Street which is about a third of a mile away from the studio itself. It is a comfortable 2* hotel who often have special offers.

  • Just over half a mile from the studio and in the heart of Manchester's famous Northern Quarter, is the very stylish Cow Hollow Hotel.

  • For a little luxury, why not make a night of it at one of Manchester's best hotels, Hotel Gotham, The Lowry or Stock Hotel. All are 5* hotels and within about a mile of the studio.

There is definitely no shortage of hotels and accommodation. For more, take a look at:

Restaurants

Manchester is one of the UK's gastronomic capitals with some fine restaurants, including it's very own Michelin starred restaurant half a mile from the studio!

  • Mana - Michelin starred restaurant offering incredibly inventive food. Perfect for a special occasion.

  • The French - Manchester's long standing award winning restaurant offering fine dining in sumptuous setting.

  • Tattu - extravagant, oriental restaurant

From a huge Chinatown, to the Curry Mile, Vietnamese, Mexican, British, Celebrity Hangouts and small independent coffee shops, Manchester has every cuisine you can think of. You can find more information here:
